Trump keeps focus on Cooper's crime record at local rally | Hour 2

I will get to the text line to get your comments here about the Trump visit to Gastonia yesterday. And look, the primary focus of the Watley campaign has so far, the Michael Watley for U.S. Senate race, it's been to hammer Roy Cooper, former Democrat governor, to hammer him on his record on crime and public safety, right? We all see it. We see the ads, right? That's been the focus. That was the focus predominantly in Trump's speech as well yesterday. Um, so that's not really a surprise. He did mention also, uh, Cooper's failure during hurricane Helene. As I said last hour, I wish he also would have brought up Cooper's failure to adequately respond and lead the recovery efforts for two other hurricanes, Matthew and Florence that took a decade to put people back in homes. Right? So he, he's, he has not been good on disaster response. Okay. Um, And I think there's a lot of areas that they can hit him on, and I hope that they do. We still have, what, a month and a half here before the election. They got tens of millions of dollars. But the primary focus was on crime. And here is the people that are making, or a lot of the reporting is about this particular clip. This part of the speech where he talked about blood soaked streets. So for years, pro-crime politicians like Roy Cooper have tried to bully you into silence while they turned your cities into blood soaked killing fields, flooded your communities with migrant criminals, destroyed your schools with gangs and drugs and filled your streets with lawlessness, filth and squalor. You think Joe Biden could say that? I don't think so. Think he could say that? No. He couldn't say that. What we went through for four years, think of it. He had a guy who couldn't sign his signature. Would you please sign here, sir? Yeah, I'll send out to an auto pen. But those days are over. They're over. President Trump and the Republicans in Congress are making America safe again. We're never going back to the disaster we had just two years ago. And right here in Charlotte, you've seen the deadly consequences of weak, cowardly sellouts to the radical left. Like Cooper, he's radical left. You know, he tries to pretend he's a moderate. He's not. He's a radical left weak person. Yes, he pretends to be a moderate, but he is a sellout to the radical left. That's what he displayed as governor. That's what he did when he was governor. The radical left would make demands and he would fall in line with it. This was actually a good line. Cowardly sellouts to the radical left. He would be a rubber stamp for the radicals. Rubber stamp Roy. We got another one. We got another name for him. We got cut him loose Cooper. My good friend Ray. Now rubber stamp Roy. A sellout to the radical left. That's what he will be. There is no doubt about it. The fact that he won't sign the promise to America, a moderate Democrat pledge. to support capitalism over socialism and all that. When he was asked, we played the audio a couple of days ago and he's like, Oh, we're basically, you know, we're a big tent. I want to, I want to hear all the ideas, even the communist ones. They have a place in our party. He then, uh, Trump then blamed Roy Cooper for the murder of the Reina Zarutska. Today I signed executive. Oh, sorry. Hang on. Hang on a second. That's the wrong clip. This is the right clip. Under Cooper and the Democrats, no cash bail policy. That monster and countless others were set loose to prey. On the people of North Carolina. That's why, I mean, I know North Carolina so well. So much crime here. National, I mean, it's on the national news. In North Carolina, somebody was stabbed to death. In North Carolina, somebody was shot. And I keep saying, what's going on with North Carolina? It's your governors. It's your governors, but it's Cooper. Cooper was really bad. As Governor Roy Cooper also cut a deal with radical activists to release, as I said, 3,500 inmates, some of the worst criminals in the nation, into North Carolina. They came out of the prisons, including savage criminals, hundreds of child predators, dozens of killers, murderers, and people serving life sentences. He released them. And you could take a look at some of the mugshots. I don't know if you have a If you can see a video around here someplace. Yeah. These are all mostly murderers and people of violent crime. Those inmates who Roy Cooper released have since murdered 25 people, raped 99 and committed more than almost a thousand felonies. He released these people. Right. So this is so now here come all of the, you know, the media fact checkers. No, that's not true. He didn't release to Carlos Brown Jr. He didn't release DeCarlos Brown Jr. I mean, okay, DeCarlos Brown was on the list to be released, but for the fact that he got let out prior to the agreement being signed, he was not released by Cooper under the agreement, even though his name was on the list, and then he would have been released by Cooper under the collusive agreement. but for the fact that he got let out just prior. So this is what Cooper is saying. Like, this is all a lie. These are lies. Yeah, but he was on your list. You would have let him out. He was already going to be released under the terms of your deal. He just happened to get let out a little bit prior to And so now you're saying this is all a lie. And that then allows him, Cooper and the campaign, to avoid talking about all of the other people that they let out and that did go on to murder people after they were released under the agreement. And this gets to one of the other things that Cooper's been arguing that there's another ad running with the And I've covered this as well. The murder of Logan Federico. She was from Union County. She was killed down in South Carolina by a repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat offender down there. Her father is in an ad. And what he says is that she was the victim of an agenda. That Roy Cooper is a supporter of that agenda. And so they're like, wait, Roy Cooper didn't release the guy that killed Logan Federico. No, Roy Cooper did not release that guy. However, Roy Cooper did endorse the agenda, the same agenda that got the guy down in South Carolina released. So like, this is the, it's like they, this is straw manning is what, what this is that he didn't release that particular person yet. But the, the ad says that she was the victim of this agenda of Cooper's agenda. He shares this agenda. How do we know he put together a task force that promoted this agenda? That's what Trump is referencing there, the no cash bail policy. That means you get popped for something and then you get to walk right back out and recommit. That's the agenda. I started to play this inadvertently before, but they played this ad at the rally. OK, they had a huge screen and they played this ad and it's about it's hitting Roy Cooper on his record on crime. Today I signed executive order to establish the North Carolina Task Force for Racial Equity and Criminal Justice. Thousands of inmates will. Be released early. 3,500 inmates. 3,500 inmates. Governor Cooper's administration saying that they'll fast-track the early release of 3,500 prisoners. It involves retrial release, fees and fines. He's got 14 arrests. A judge released him without bail in January. But the question is, which prisoners? Prisoners who have. Committed violent crimes are a part of that conversation. Task force is just the beginning. And I'm committed to making sure we see real progress. There you go. Rubber stamp Roy. Whatever the lefties want, the most radical elements of the Democrat base, whatever they want when it comes to decarceration, criminal justice, quote unquote, reform, rubber stamp. Roy will go along with. He did it as governor, right? He marched with the BLM people as they were tearing apart Raleigh, you know, vandalizing businesses, even prompting the evacuation of the governor's mansion. Cooper and his family had to be escorted out and shuttled away to the emergency operations center. And then he goes out and does a half block march with the BLM people that just forced him to evacuate his own building, his own home. By the way, one of the stats that appears nowhere in any of their reporting, a stat that Trump cited yesterday at the rally in Gastonia, that crime reduction in Washington, D.C., the efforts that they'd made up in D.C., they brought in the National Guard, outrage ensued, right? He said what he learned from that, and I have not fact-checked these stats, but he These stats align with what we know about recidivism, the reoffending rates, basically. People who engage in a crime, then they get arrested, they go to jail, and then they get out, and then they reoffend and get rearrested and get re-imprisoned. That's recidivism. He says 2% of the population is responsible for 91% of the crimes. And that is in line with the historical data that we know. And he said, like, so, like, we can handle this. If we want to, we can handle this. If you've got that tiny of a population that accounts for that massive amount of the crimes, getting tougher with that 2% reduces the 91% of the crimes. This is not new information. This is not rocket surgery, okay? Trump then goes on to say you can vote for Cooper, who will set loose criminals to rape and murder your children and your population, or you can vote for Whatley to protect and defend your children and your population. He vetoed laws to ban sanctuary city. He vetoed laws on saying you're a sanctuary city. You know what a sanctuary city is? A sanctuary city is a place that protects criminals. And in North Carolina, you protect a lot of criminals. You don't protect your people, you protect your criminals. And this year in Greenville, a violent gang of illegal alien satyrs broke into a home, viciously attacked and sodomized a male victim and ripped out his fingernails one by one. He said he's never experienced anything that was so horrible. In Fayetteville, a Haitian migrant flown in by Joe Biden, sleepy Joe, crooked Joe. He's sleepy and he's crooked. I never figured out which is better. They're both true. Was arrested for stabbing to death a 77-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old girl. Killed them all viciously, violently. Roy Cooper let them out. Roy Cooper wants migrant criminals like these set loose on North Carolina streets with sanctuary city policies. Michael Whatley wants them executed, arrested, or deported. All right, so this is Roy Cooper's record when he vetoed multiple efforts by the North Carolina legislature to force state sheriffs to cooperate with ICE to deport, well, to hand over to ICE, and then ICE would deport criminal illegal aliens. If you're an illegal alien, you. Get arrested for something by local PD, you end up at the local jail. And in sanctuary counties like Mecklenburg, our sheriff ran on a platform of no cooperation with ICE because this is what the radical left demands of the Democrats in order to vote for them. And Democrats needing their votes, they kowtow to this. They placate them. They rubber stamp it. They go along with this stuff. And so when the legislature said, OK, this is crazy, you guys, you need to cooperate with ICE. They ran a bill. It passed. It went to the governor's desk and he vetoed it twice, two different times, I believe. So this is his record. But they don't address this stuff in their fact checking. They don't highlight these quotes in the in the media accounts. They're not covering this stuff. No, no, no. It's like, actually, Roy Cooper didn't release to Carlos Brown Jr. His name was just on the list for release, but he had already gotten out. But if he hadn't gotten out, yeah, he would have been released. That's what they focus on. Quick reminder, we are doing the Walk to End Alzheimer's. He did a very brief sort of stump speech, ran about three minutes. Here it is. You know, back in 2015, I got a call from Trump Tower asking me if I would help a businessman run for president in North Carolina. And at that time, he was at 1% of the polls. He was 15th out of 15 in that Republican primary. And I said, yes. I said yes because I watched that man come down the escalator. I watched that man say he was going to make America great again. And it wasn't just a pithy campaign slogan that he borrowed from President Reagan. It was a plan. To rebuild our economy, to restore our borders and keep our communities safe, and make sure that America is the strongest, most respected nation on the face of the earth. And I said, yeah, I'm with that guy. Here we are 11 years later, and every single day, Donald Trump is fighting to make America great. And I am still with that guy. And I'm excited about running for Senate because I want every North Carolina family to make more money, to keep more money. I want every community to be safe and secure. I want us to have the strongest Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard in the entire world. And Space Force. I grew up in Blowing Rock, about an hour and a half from here, a tiny little town. 534 people. We had one stoplight and a Hardee's. Now they got three stoplights and an Outback. It's huge. I went to church. I went to school. I worked. I got my first full-time job at 14. I worked all through high school, paid my way through college, paid my way through graduate school and law school. Three weeks after I graduated from law school, I met Suzanne, and I fell head over heels in love. It took her a little longer. We have been together 28 years since. We have three absolutely fantastic kids. Michael and George are here tonight. And they're in a great place to go do great things. You know what I call that? I call that the American dream. And I've lived it right here in North Carolina. And I'm running for Senate because I want every one of your kids and every one of your grandkids to live the American dream, just like I have here in North Carolina. And I am excited about fighting for North Carolina, for every family, for every community and fighting alongside the greatest president of our lifetime, Donald J. Trump. All right. So kind of an introduction to the crowd, just like here's my bio and touting the American dream. And that was it. That was the whole speech that Wiley made. The rest of it was Trump's Trump speech. Let me go over to the text line here. Uh, Michael Skippy says, uh, I'm glad you mentioned hurricanes, Matthew and Florence. People have let those just fade away between the hurricanes and COVID. His leadership is awful. Um, to, to, to do this is from seven Oh four number. The media forgets when it comes to like the fear mongering that, uh, that they were cute. They accused Trump. Oh, he's just fear mongering. Um, And I said, that's ironic because the media fear mongers. That's kind of the business model. The media forgets that they are currently on a campaign against data centers, AI, Islamophobia, and the list goes on. They must think their fear mongering is justified because they gaslight themselves into thinking they are objective and impartial. 704 says, you are right on the money. I've been saying this about Cooper's poor response to Hurricane Helene. Stephen in High Point says, to me, I feel we should stick to Mr. Cooper voters should consider the high grocery prices and high gas prices and other high prices when voting in the midterms. If I do vote. I will vote for Cooper. And furthermore, if we. Vote Whatley in, we will maybe likely see more of the same with high prices. Saying this in total respect to President Trump and Mr. Whatley, we need a fresh start for all of us. Thanks. Yeah, I mean, you could vote for a fresh start with the 40-year politician that will side with the Democrat leadership on all of their crazy ideas. Yeah, you could. I mean, that would be a fresh start. Going further down a communist path at the behest of the DSA, that would definitely be a fresh start. I agree. I agree. Remember also, Michael Watley, if elected, would be serving a six-year term, and Donald Trump is gone after two. So there's going to be a fresh start in 2028 after that election. There's going to be a new president, and there's going to be another round of elections. So just keep that in mind when considering fresh starts and high prices and such. I will get on to the next hour. I'm going to talk about the economic messaging and some of the data points there as well. So stay tuned for that. Back on the text line, 980 number says, I think Watley's team... needs to not focus on Cooper's record, but focus on the rubber stamp he would be to all things radical left that the Democrats are about should Cooper be elected. That's right. Rubber stamp Roy. That's like it's right there for you. Rubber stamp Roy. He will be a rubber stamp. We haven't even touched on some of the other things that he did as governor. Like remember all of the HB2 stuff, the transgender stuff when the state legislature was trying to you know, make sure that schools were in transing kids outside of their parents' permission and that sort of stuff. Roy was a solid veto every single time, whenever any kind of policy came out of the legislature that the radical left opposed, Roy Cooper was their man with the veto pen. He is a rubber stamp, a rubber stamp, a veto stamp, right? He was there to veto everything the radical left wanted vetoed. And then the legislature would have to cobble together the votes and peel away a couple Democrats here or there, and override the vetoes. And when they did override the vetoes, what happened to those Democrats that went with the Republicans, the one or two of them, the ones who weren't as radical as the radical left base? What happened to them? Well, my good friend Ray targeted them in their primaries for defeat, ousting several of these Democrats over multiple years to kick them out so this way the radical left's veto, the rubber stamp, would be preserved. That's what Roy Cooper did when he was governor. Why do you think he would behave in any other way when he is one of 50 or 51 U.S. senators in the majority? You think he's going to buck his party? You think he's going to be a Joe Manchin? Do you think he's going to be an independent voice out there that's willing to say, you know what, I'm going to join with John Fetterman on this. This is too far. Do you think he's, like, has anybody asked him, like, do you think we should be supporting Israel? Do you think we should allow the Israelis to purchase American defense systems? Because you've got Democrats that are saying we shouldn't sell them even, like, stuff for their Iron Dome. And that's purely defensive. So is he a vote for that? Don't know. Maybe somebody could ask him. Maybe. Robert says, high gas prices are temporary, we are assured, similar to Biden saying inflation was transitory. Not the best message or very defensible or provable. Sorry for the candor, says Robert. OK, first off, gas prices are temporary and inflation is not transitory. So you are comparing two things that are not of the same kind. Gas prices go up and gas prices go down. Inflation, on the other hand, always goes up. So when Biden came out and said inflation was transitory, anybody who understands what inflation is knew that that's a lie. Once you have an inflation rate of 9%, as we saw in one single year under Biden, a massive inflation number. People who understand inflation knew like those prices are never coming back down. That's why you want to keep inflation at about 3% because by keep or two to 3%, you want to keep inflation low. So this way thing, other, other factors in the economy can keep pace with it. When you see a 9% increase, it's going to take a couple of years to for everything else to sort of settle in based on those new rates. You're going to have to wait for the wages to increase, right? So yeah, Biden's inflation is transitory. Uh, line was a lie gas prices going up or down. So by definition, those are temporary, temporary increases, temporary decreases, right? But they too are also subject to inflation. Um, But I understand there are some people that are just like very mad about gas prices. And so that's it. So like let's turn the country over to the radical leftists and we may never then win back control because if they get their way, like if you look at what it is that they're proposing, what they are proposing and what they're talking about are ways to entrench their power forever. Forever. That's why they want to abolish the Electoral College. It's why they want to reopen the border, abolish ICE. That's why they want to pack the U.S. Supreme Court. They want to preserve their power in perpetuity. That's the goal. So you're mad about gas prices. Okay. Go vote for the communists, I guess. Uh, you'll show them, you'll show, you'll show Trump like, uh, it's a, that is a calculation. Um, Ian says this misanthrope is incredulous about having so much faith in the American electorate, especially after we twice elected Obama. Just think we've hit critical mass with all things progressive. Uh, John says a rubber stamp is not the only. Uh, okay. I'm not going to read the rest of Come on, man.
